The wine tasting and information event on 16 July gave our President, Shukry Sahhar, the opportunity to thank our many supporters for their contributions of various kinds over more than a decade, and to tell them their hopes of seeing MyHome in Canberra established now seem sure of fulfilment.
Paul and Michelle Cains, of Prohibition Canberra, had arranged a wide selection of wines and beers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, for tasting. Evan Mann, the representative on our committee of the Woden Valley Uniting Church which is providing its site in Curtin, talked about Wesley Mission’s design for building and operating MyHome as part of the Wesley Curtin development along with 83 units of affordable rental housing.
Donations to MyHome made in advance and on the night total more than $4,500, for which we are most grateful.
