In response to a question from Dr Marisa Paterson MLA about progress of the MyHome project, the Minister for Mental Health, Ms Emma Davidson, published on 12 April this answer. In summary, Ms Davidson’s answer:
- refers to the ACT Health Directorate’s having worked with the MyHome committee and clarified the service model, target cohort, eligibility criteria and financial approach for MyHome;
- mentions our partnering with Wesley Mission, our discussions with the National Disability Insurance Agency, and the ACT Health Directorate’s having supported us and Wesley Mission to connect to other community organisations such as disability providers; and
- says that “projected timelines for the MyHome project are subject to Cabinet decisions”.
We appreciate this positive and helpful answer, but it leaves us still with several questions, of which these are the most important:
- Does the Minister consider that now the MyHome proposal has been developed, implementation can begin when funds are available in the Government’s budget?
- Is the Minister willing to discuss with residents of Curtin and the Woden Valley how the MyHome proposal would be delivered and how it would affect them?
