The ACT Government has included in its 2019-20 Budget funds to begin construction of a second Common Ground housing project.
This is to be a 40‑unit complex within the urban renewal precinct along Antill Street in Dickson. Its purpose is described as being “to provide permanent supportive housing and affordable rental for people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness”.
According to Budget Statement G for the Community Services Directorate (Table 40 on p48), $70,000 is to be provided in 2019-20, with larger amounts to follow in the three subsequent years.
