How you can help

We are calling on members of the ACT community, the mental health sector, mental health consumers and carers to join us in this exciting project.

MyHome in Canberra will make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of people living with an enduring mental illness that are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, or who live in unsuitable accommodation.

Our vision will become a reality if the Canberra community makes it happen—this is why it is very important to have your assistance and support from people, businesses and organisations in Canberra.

We are asking members of the ACT community to help in a number of ways. We are seeking expertise and input from community organisations, accountants and lawyers, people who work in the construction and building design sectors, mental health consumer and carer networks and community volunteers to assist with fundraising and a range of activities.

We warmly welcome any volunteers who wish to contribute in activities such as helping with the initial planning, design and delivery of the project or being a carer and volunteer once MyHome in Canberra is open. Mental health first aid and social support training will be provided to staff, carers and volunteers.
